The library at Saint Lawrence School exists to promote the joy of reading, provide research materials for students, and support the academic curriculum for the PK-8 students and 20 staff members. By visiting the physical library collection and engaging in weekly classroom library instruction, students learn important research skills, including navigating resources in an increasingly digital world. The Saint Lawrence library provides materials to aid students in their academic endeavors, including fiction and non-fiction books tied to the curriculum, The library aims to nurture life-long learning and instill the love for reading in all students. Research Databases
Students may ask the librarian for login information for Discovery Education. Discovery Education is an excellent resource for educational videos. Discovery Education also includes a Homework Help section for students, which includes WebMath, a step-by-step math instructional program. is Connecticut’s research engine, providing free access to magazines, newspapers, and academic databases. Simply enter your library card number from your town library to login. Several resources within iConn are designed specifically for students, such as Kids InfoBits, InfoTrac Junior Edition, and InfoTrac Student Edition.

The St. Lawrence library has grown significantly over the past couple of years, thanks to the generosity of parents, alumni, and friends of St. Lawrence School who have donated books or money to the library. Donations of gently used books are always welcome, as are donations through our Adopt-A-Book program.
